A collaborative Exilmuseum exhibition
on flight and exile, in the past and today
June 12 – October 31, 2021
at Anhalter Bahnhof Berlin
(Askanischer Platz, behind the portico)
Open air, free admission, accessible at all times
ZU/FLUCHT is an outdoors exhibition on the path leading to the Exilmuseum, which will be built in the next few years at Anhalter Bahnhof. The ruins of the portico are all that remains of the train station from which countless victims of Nazi persecution fled between 1933 and 1945 in search of safe refuge in exile. ZU/FLUCHT deals not only with the fate of refugees back then, but like the Exilmuseum it also spans a bridge to the present: for today, Germany is a country where many seek refuge.
For five months, the museum will be temporarily located in former housing that was used by today’s refugees in Germany, redesigned for the exhibition by students at Berlin’s Technische Universität.
ZU/FLUCHT invites you to learn more about the future Exilmuseum and the projects of our collaboration partners and to actively participate in the museum’s development.
